With the stylized project we could have free reign on pretty much any idea for our face. We could make our face a complete blank canvas. When I thought of that, a canvas, I thought about art. And with that I thought of one of my favorite paintings, Hokusai's 'The Great Wave'.
For gore day we were able to try a variety of different 'gore' options. I gave myself a pretty nasty bruise underneath my left eye. Around my lips I played with the idea of a type of decay, a mix between a bad acid burn and lepresy. Above my right eye with wax I put in a slit to fill with blood and paint in some 'dried blood' with the stage blood. MORGUES:
Unfortunately I couldn't find the picture for the day in which we did 'Midde Age', so I thought I'd borrow a few photo's to when I was in Facing East. In the play I played 'Ruth McCormick' who was in her late 50's. Slight lines and creases are beginning to occur on face, with a more leather, yellower foundation. MORGUES:
For this project I liked the idea of dirt being something beautiful, a way to decorate the face. So I had a dirt underneath the eye, and had little white roots starting to grow. Above the eye, is the green canopy of the tree's or grass or whatever new life is growing, so we have green eye shadow above. MORGUE:
Dealing with Character Shadow and highlight to frame the face best under stage lighting. Highlight always goes over shadow, with the exception of the cheeks where rouge is often used over top. Highlight just under eye brows, and over lid of the eye. Highlight along jaw line, and down straight of nose. Shadows on either side of nose, along cheek line, and concave section of the eye. Light liner around underside of eye. Add mascara and light lipstick. MORGUES:
